"Catharsis" follows an emotional journey of releasing compressed emotions. Musically, the piece started with a predominant heartbeat- building up as the release in the dancers and choreography grew before being released away. Lighting followed this journey- focuses on the strong emotions and supporting the heartbeat before isolating down to the release. Following emotional releases comes a sense of calm, felt with light pinks, blue, ambers and white lighting. As the new calm is found from among the release, lighting reflected the calm around us with blues and ambers to support the cycle we all go on emotionally throughout our lives.

"Wakings" focused on morning movement, first encounters, and the hustle busy-ness we all experience each morning, whether through routine or just trying to get out the door on time. Lighting focused on this journey- starting with inspiration from the sunrises. As we all shift into our busy day- our lives become almost track like- our schedules and determined tasks leading us throughout the day. Shafts of light became the guiding force for the second section- leading us through the choreography for focus while highlighting how much our mornings set the tone and scope of our day.
